RAKTA DEAFKIDS

Rakta and Deafkids are two of the most exciting bands to emerge out of Brazil in recent times.

Since 2015, DEAFKIDS have been developing their unique sound by blending elements from industrial and avant-garde music; Dubwise techniques and psychedelia; the hypnotic rhythms and pulses of Brazilian, African and Indian music; to the expanding boundaries of the D-beat groove.

From the release of the self-titled debut album in 2013, RAKTA has seen quite a vertiginous rise. In a particularly rare way for a band from the DIY scene of São Paulo, the band has aroused immediate international attention. RAKTA’s genre-bending intensity, along with its complex, narrative live performances builds peculiarly deep sonic dimensions, creating a “captivating atmosphere that seems to draw people in”, as described by The Quietus.

The two bands are long-time collaborators and friends. On "Live at Sesc Pompéia" they are joining forces in a primal and playful live experience from 2019. Crossing over the borders of psychedelic rock, these two bands create something truly unique; a land of concrete techno and percussive punk, as they become one entity in the making.
